Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Red Line Project faces obstacles due to the relocation of underground utility lines.
He spoke to the media during a visit to the location of the BRT Yellow Line project on Monday, saying PTCL and K-Lertic demanded millions of rupees to transfer the utility line, which delayed progress.
He said the government has been in touch with the agencies to resolve these issues and directed the transport minister to resolve the current dispute with KE within 24 hours.
He said that with the support of the World Bank, the provincial government works in the day and night Yellow line project. He added that work on warehouses and other construction activities is in full swing.
Mr. Memon, who also has an information and transportation portfolio, also visited the bridge named after the late Senator Taj Haider, an important part of the Karachi Yellow Line to review construction work.

Senator Taj Mahal Hyde Bridge is in its final stage of completion. The government’s goal is to complete the bridge within a week and open it to the public.

Mr Mason said inauguration of Senator Taj Mahal Bridge Jam Sadiq Bridge Will be demolished and rebuilt in a modern style. He explained that the new bridge will provide separate tracks for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists to ensure safe and convenient facilities for citizens.

“Pink Scooter”

The senior minister added that in the next few weeks, double-decker buses and electric buses were greatly failed.
He mentioned that during the recent visit to the president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan, the important meeting was the hero to discuss the establishment of manufacturing plants in Sindh to produce electric and ordinary buses.

Commenting on the inappropriate language of journalists in Punjab, he said the behavior was regrettable. He noted that while policy may be debated, no one has the right to target the entire community.
Mr Memon stressed that the priority now should be to help flood victims rather than involve political disputes.
He criticized the federal government’s wheat policy, saying that if farmers have been provided Supported priceas President Zardari suggested, the country would not be forced to spend billions of rupees to import cereal.
He noted that Sindh still has 1.2 million wheat sheets, but the federal government is unwilling to buy it from farmers at fair prices.
The senior minister stressed that Pakistan is an agricultural country and supporting farmers is the only way to strengthen the economy.
In the case of flooding in Punjab, he said that better plans can reduce the scale of damage, but lack of experience has caused losses. He said Sindh, by contrast, managed the situation more effectively with the Chief Minister’s direct monitoring and the establishment of control rooms, which helped limit losses.
