Karachi: A young man was shot dead by a robber in front of his home in Orange Town on Monday night.
Sho Sher Mohammed Sangi told Iqbal Market dawn The 25-year-old Sajjad Shaukat stood outside his home with his two children, when two robbers on motorcycles appeared there.
CCTV footage obtained by police showed the victim was using the cell phone when a robber got out of the car and asked for his cell phone. If he exerts resistance, the robber will fire at him and ride with his accomplices without snatching his phone.
Shaukat suffered severe bullet injuries and was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Viral CCTV footage also won on social media shows the deceased carrying a baby son when another son was standing near him at the time of the incident.
Dig Irfan Ali Baloch of the West Side ordered a moratorium on SHO because he did not curb street crimes within his jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man was shot dead in Sharea Faisal near the nursery on Monday, police said.
Tipu Sultan Sho Yasin Gujjar said Mohammed Zada was a worker and the murder seemed to be the result of some kind of personal hatred.
He said the victim left his hometown of Khyber Pakhtukwa due to hatred and has lived in Karachi since then.
