Quetta: The date of water shortage in the provincial capital is deteriorating every day and the government and people must take joint steps to address this serious problem, said the government and people.
They said in a meeting with the media at the planned meeting of the Quetta Press Club on Thursday that in view of the severe water shortage: “We will declare an emergency in Quetta”.
They said steps are being made to address water shortages, and in this regard, many plans are underway. But, they say, to solve the water problem and improve cleanliness, a joint effort is needed because without public support, the problem cannot be solved. They say public awareness is very important and the public must understand their responsibilities.
They said the government is committed to improving cleanliness and provides people with all facilities in provincial capital through public-private partnerships and the adoption of modern technology. In this regard, they say an application is being developed to enhance public service delivery.
Quetta News Club president Irfan Saeed and other journalists pointed out the problems faced by the people in the provincial capital.
The Quetta branch commissioner said that people must be aware of their responsibility to protect public institutions and support the active measures of the government. He said waste treatment plants have already implemented their functions and are working to ensure transparency through digitalization.
Mr Kakar said measures are being taken to address urban cleaning, parking, road expansion, drinking water issues, plantation and traffic management issues. He said drug users are being provided with treatment and rehabilitation to reintegrate them into members of society. He said the problem of no parks has been resolved and a comprehensive strategy to address urban challenges has been developed.
“No one is going to break the law. Anyone who tries to break the law or manipulate the law will face legal action,” he said.
