Lahore/Dadu: Punjab government on Tuesday Announce A relief package for people affected recently floodbut stop giving it a distribution date.
“The owner of a destroyed house will be provided with Rs 1 million, partially damaged houses,” Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said in a press conference.
She said farmers who are flooded land receive Rs 20,000 per acre, while farmers who lose each cattle or buffalo will provide Rs 5 lakh compensation.
“All of these payments are made by the Punjab government’s own resources without seeking external assistance,” she said.
Ms Bokari said the “relief cards” would be introduced so that flood victims can get assistance without long queues.
She said 10,000 employees have been deployed to investigate the flood-affected areas, but no timetable for compensation payments was set.
The minister said more than 4.7 million people and 2.1 million livestock were affected in 27 areas and 4,794 villages, including areas along the coast of three rivers. “For relief and rescue operations, 2,213 teams are still working in the field,” she added.
Ms Bokari said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited every flooded area and claimed that the provincial government had to set an example of relief and rescue operations, while criticizing opposition parties for politicizing the issue.
Loss in Satterly embankment
At the same time, disastrous flood Triggers caused by three violations along the Noraja Bhutta embankment in the Sutri River have been directed to various areas of Multan, Bahawalpur and Lodhran regions, causing severe damage to thousands of homeless people and critical infrastructure.
The embankment was replaced at three locations by the joint committee of Jalalpur Pirwala, Bahadurpur and Noraja Bhuta of Jhangra. One hole was opened for 400 feet, while the other two stretched for 30 to 40 feet.
The violations transferred the flow of Sutlej to nearby villages including Jhangra, Bahadurpur, Noraja Bhutta, Kotla Chakar, Tarut Basharat, Basti Lang, Basti Lang, Basti Kanu, Basti Kanu, Department and Khairpur Dha.
The flood also damaged the M5 Expressway and Gilani Road, creating a lake between the two roads. Authorities conducted a controlled violation on Gilani Road, turning the water to the Chenab River.
Sutlej is still flowing 70,000 to 80,000 Cuseecs of water and can reach the area within a day or two, a senior irrigation official said. He said efforts are being made to plug the loophole around the lock, which could take up to 12 days to seal.
He said authorities also separated the water from the canals of Suramanchi and Islamic heads, and the 20,000 to 25,000 cuseecs on the Sutra River will further reduce Noraja Bhutta, which will take the usual route to the Chenab river.
Meanwhile, residents of these Union Commissions were forced to live on Gilani Road and other embankments under the open sky, many without tents or food.

According to Irfan Ali Kathia, Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Agency (PDMA), the overall flow of the Punjab River is normal and the water levels in the areas affected by floods are under recovery measures.
Datu Village is flooded
In Sindh, several parts of the Jamshoro region are bones as moderate floods pass through the kotri barrage submerged.
These include Sehwan, Laki Shah Sadar, Amri, Sun, Manjhand, Lakha, Indpur, Buddhapur, Aliabad, Aliabad, Khanot, Petaro, Kotri, Kotri, Khanpur and Karokho, among others.
Houses, infrastructure and agricultural land in these areas suffered extensive losses. In Sehwan, there are 10 more villages under the flood. The flood had crossed the bridge on the Indus Expressway to reach the historic Lar Bagh area. The water also entered the cemetery near Lal Bagh and was trapped in nearby houses.
The power supply has been completely suspended in the river area, leaving residents in trouble, while the left road is seven distances as the connection passage is still underwater.
In addition, several parts of Manjhand are underwater. Villagers in Goth Detha, located near the Shah Owais Qarani shrine, were flooded after several floods along the route.
The plightful area is depicted in a video shared on social media, showing a funeral parade of three feet of water.
