The Senate Standing Committee recently convened Youtuber Rizwan Razi (also known as Razi Dada) and made derogatory remarks against the people of Sindh. The panel then directed the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to block his YouTube channel’s “hate speech” against the people of Sindh.

However, the Punjab government and chief minister Maryam Nawaz has made public support for Razi, and the social media campaign aims to express solidarity with him.
The PPP strongly opposes the position of the Maryam government, questioning how it supports a person who openly demonstrates hatred for Sindh and promotes provincialism.

PPP Punjab executive member Ahsan Rizvi also condemned the activities of PML-N-supported X accounts, calling it “absolutely unacceptable.”
“It is a pity that PML-N’s social media is supporting biased YouTubers. Describing people who engage in ransomware and racial bias is an insult to journalism,” Rizvey said.
The controversy has become a hot topic on social media, with many users urging the Punjab government not to support the “anti-Chinde” because of its opponents against PML-N.
CM Maryam Nawaz said in a statement that even though Razi used inappropriate phrases, he showed a “good character” by opening his heart to apologize.
“Those who encourage provincial bias and spread hatred-filled narratives have never been questioned. Rejecting hatred politics and provincial teachers’ narratives is the only way to make Pakistan stronger,” she said.
Punjab Minister of Information and Culture Azma Bokhari also stressed that her party has never been involved in provincial politics and has not played river or river-dam cards.
