Rawalpindi: Regional Taxation Department has imposed Article 4 National Income Law Punjab is prohibiting the sale and purchase of land in Jinnah Park on Kutchery Chowk, Iftikhar Janjua Road and Old Airport Road for the construction of three overpasses and three underground passages.
A senior district government official told dawn Three government projects have been acquired from Rawalpindi: Kutchery Chowk, Iftikhar Janjua Road and Jinnah Park of Old Airport Road, and will receive a total of 32 Kannals. He noted that Article 4 was cited to promote land acquisition.
The Punjab government has approved the project to build three overpasses and three underground passages costing Rs 1,450 crore to alleviate traffic congestion.
A senior district government official notified dawn The total cost of the two overpasses and one underpass in Kutchery Chowk is estimated to be Rs 6.6 billion, the Jinnah Park Underpass and Overpass Project Rs 5.2 billion, and an underpass in Ive Tikhar Janjua is estimated to be Rs 20,000 crore.

He added that land sales and purchases will be banned. “The additional funds have been allocated to these projects in the initial stage,” he said, stressing that this is a critical step towards achieving the project.

He stressed that overpasses and underground passages are crucial projects that can reduce traffic load in cities and improve drivers’ investment.
He mentioned that the land from Fatima Kinner Women’s University, the Taxation Bureau, the Commissioner’s Office, the Police Department and Kinner Park will also be used in the project.
He added that some private states are also needed. Following the implementation of Section 4, the land acquisition process will begin.
He noted that the government has directed the design of overpasses and underground passages to minimize structural damage.
