A local woman beat a part of a woman health worker in the human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization campaign in Mandi Bahauddin on Thursday.

He further said that LHW Ghulam Sughra was beaten by local women during a vacation campaign at the school. He added that in the attack, health workers were also thrown to the ground.
He said the first information report (FIR) has been registered in a complaint from health workers, but has not been arrested so far.

Sughra said in FIR that she was present with Chak’s team at No. 38. The complainant said when they were vaccinated among children in an elementary school, they were attacked by a woman known as Parveen, and 15 other women.
She said: “Parveen threw me on the ground and started hitting me. Other women started hitting me too. They swear to me too.”
The immunization campaign, which begins on September 17, will end on September 27.
The movement is being divided into three phases: 1 phase, operating from 15 to 27 September 2025, covering Punjab, Sindh, Azad Chamu and Kashmir, and the capital region of Islamabad; the second phase will be extended to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2026; and the third phase will arrive in Balluchistan in 2027.
The goal is to inoculate 90% of girls aged 9-14 years old in Phase 1 by the end of 2025 and maintain high coverage through routine immunization in the coming years.
