Rawalpindi: More than 50 Iclegals Afghan nationalsDetained at the Afghan holding center on Tuesday, he was deported to their country, while two others were deported to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) due to security concerns.
Nearly 50 illegal Afghan nationals, including 21 men, 8 women and 20 children, were taken over by law enforcement officers from different parts of the twin city, while their travel documents are being expelled from Afghanistan’s travel documents, sources said.
Since the government’s voluntary repatriation deadline on August 31, law enforcement has launched a crackdown on Afghan nationals with certificates of registration (POR) cards.
A security official said the remaining Afghan nationals are facing arrest and forced deportation after the deadline ends.
Pakistan has extended the deadline for millions of Afghan refugees holding POR cards, and by September 1, many Afghan families living in Rawalpindi voluntarily repatriated.
As part of the illegal foreign repatriation strategy, a joint “subcommittee” (JSC) of police and intelligence personnel was established to prove with registration cards and help the operational teams to map Afghan nationals.
The JSC is composed of deputy director of Police Security Director Rawalpindi and representatives of the department or Safron or Safron, counterterrorism departments, intelligence agencies and other agencies.
The government has developed a comprehensive strategy to accelerate the formal repatriation of Afghan nationals holding POR cards, as part of the ongoing implementation of the IFRP.
Repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan Citizenship Card (ACC) holders, will continue in accordance with the earlier IFRP decision.
More than 3,575 illegal Afghan nationals, including 2.034 men, 663 women and 881 children, have been surrounded by law enforcement and brought to Dhoke Syedan, Afghan holding center in Ravinini, since the government’s deadline passed.
Of the 3,575 illegal Afghan nationals, 3,510 were deported from Afghanistan.
