Pakistan Human Rights Commission said on Monday it was shocking to hear reports of several civilian killings caused in the Khyber Pakhwa Tira area and request an investigation into the matter.

“The HRCP was informed that many civilians, including children, were killed, were allegedly shocked by an explosion in the air in Tirah, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber District.”

It requires that “the authorities cause immediate and impartial events in the incident and be responsible for those responsible”.

“The constitutional need for the state to protect the right to life of all civilians, and this has never been secured,” the HRCP statement said.

So far, no official statement has been issued by the relevant authorities to share details of the reporting incident.

Meanwhile, Khyber National Assembly member Mohammad Iqbal Khan Afridi expressed grief in a video message about Pashto shared with the media.

He said older women and children were killed in Tira’s “jets” and urged people to reach the site of the incident to protest the killing.
