Governor KP says root cause of extremism poverty – Pakistan

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtukwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said poverty is the root cause of social differences and extremism, emphasizing equality, justice and collective efforts are crucial to eliminating it.

On Friday, he spoke on the Hero of Khyber Pakhtukhwa’s poverty plan and fought extremism through the poverty reduction plan, saying that the future of prosperity and peace is directly related to economic and social development.

Pakistan’s Poverty Mitigation Fund (PPAF) organized the meeting at the Governor’s home in partnership with KP’s Centre of Excellence (CVE) and Paigham-i-Pakistan.

Mr Kundy said unemployment, poverty and lack of opportunity, despair and exploitation.

“Empowering communities economically and socially will be the most powerful shield against extremism,” he stressed.

Governor Kundi visited the booth to showcase the province’s culture, distributed certificates among youth, and distributed women who signed interest-free loans. He also opened two PPAF projects, an infrastructure program and an olive project.

In his speech, the government stressed that the positive image of Kheber Pakhtukwa should be further promoted through a system based on equality and justice.

He stressed that the gap between the federal and provincial levels has been narrowed, ensuring equitable distribution of resources, and expanding development benefits to every corner of KP as a key priority for the government.

Governor Kundi said he appreciated the PPAF’s efforts, which the organization has appointed it to serve the most vulnerable social sector.

“Projecting the soft image of the province is our priority and we must work together to develop and prosper Khyber Pakhtunkwa,” he said.

At the end of the event, the government showed the shield to MNA Aamna Batool, Humera Zia and PPAF CEO Nadir Gul.
