At least four counters and two others were injured when the mortar shell exploded in the Bajaur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, according to police officials.
Bajaur District Police (DPO) Waqas Rafiq told dawn.com Regarding the incident, it was said that the deceased and injured were taken to the Carba Hall Regional Headquarters Hospital.
“The initial reports showed that the mortar shell exploded in the wild, killing young people,” he said, adding that the deceased were between 13 and 18 years old.
Meanwhile, Nisar Baaz Khan, a member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Bajaur, condemned the incident statement On social media, and claimed that according to local residents, soldiers of four attacked the village and killed innocent civilians.

The MPA questioned why the operation was carried out in the area when authorities claimed there were no terrorists there.

He continued: “For decades, our people have been killed in the name of counter-terrorism; their houses have been destroyed and now innocent lives have become targets again.”

A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat said that after the incident, CM Ali Amin Gandapur and the delegation of the region were with PTI MNA IQBAL AFRIDI, KP Chief Secretary, other Chief Secretary (Home), Peshawar Commissioner and other officials. The law and order situation in the “context of unfortunate events” that occurred in Tirah was examined.
“The tr difficulties of civilians in the incident are regrettable and condemned. The actions against terrorists are difficult for civilians to accept,” the statement said.
Pakistan Human Rights Commission said it was “deeply shocked” to hear reports of the killings of several civilians allegedly caused by the “air bombing” in Tira and requesting an investigation into the matter.
It requires that “the authorities cause immediate and impartial events in the incident and be responsible for those responsible”.
