Officials said a female camel allegedly tortured by a landowner in Sukel was handed over to a private animal shelter in Karachi on Saturday.

According to FIR, the incident happened at 2pm yesterday, where three sisters were nominated.

The complainant said he had been begging the sisters to avoid camels, but they did not listen.

Sukel Police Senior Superintendent Azhar Mughal said in a conversation with the media that police arrested two sisters.

Sukkur Commissioner Abid Salem told dawn.com On the phone, the camel was transferred to Karachi after coordination with a private sector organization that handled such injuries.
He said the camel would have surgery on her leg, adding that her chin was also injured.
