Gujrat: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz opened an electric bus project for Wazirabad on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister boarded an electronic car from Gakhar Mandi Bus Stop and was warmly welcomed by people gathered on the electric bus route.
She officially opened an e-commerce business project and got detailed letters.
She was told that 15 environmentally friendly, air-conditioned E-Buses will operate on various suburban routes in Wazirabad.
E-Buses comes with Wi-Fi and mobile charging ports in each seat, and for women’s safety and convenience, each bus has a separate women’s compartment, and CCTV cameras are also installed to prevent harassment incidents.
The E-Buses route will include Wazirabad-Alipur Chattha and Wazirabad-Sheikhupura Mor routes. In addition, three special charging stations were established in Wazirabad for electronic buses.
A local local said it was appreciating the initiative and that the E-BUS service will also help reduce fatal traffic accidents on GT Road, as people would rather travel in these comfortable vehicles than using motorcycles – motorcycles and carbikes.

Earlier, police blocked the main GT road near Wazirabad bypass for about an hour of traffic to facilitate CM’s bus trip, resulting in long queues of vehicles on the national highway.
