Chitral: A consultative workshop on “Gender-based Violence (GBV) as a Public Health Issues”, Heroes on Wednesday highlighted and coordinated approaches by different government and non-governmental agencies to effectively help sting women’s suicide trends.

Under its Health and Authorization Foundation (F4HE) project, representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation’s Aegis heroes in health, education, social welfare, social welfare, municipal administration, police stations, regional administration, regional administration and civil society organizations participated in the workshop.

Qudsia Mehtab Mehmood, trainer at the workshop, elaborated on the nature of GBV, especially about the ground conditions of Chitral, and said it needs to be considered as seven public health issues.

The purpose of the consulting workshop was to provide departments and organizations with a forum to discuss existing challenges and gaps in health systems’ response to GBV, thereby strengthening coordination among them to prevent and respond and identify actionable recommendations.

Gender-based violence is highlighted as public health issues

Participants worked on existing problems and challenges and made many suggestions to address the issue as the number of suicides is increasing in Chitral’s health problems that make things worse in many local dimensions.

The Working Group identified the need for society’s awareness of GBV fundamentals and proposed a solid mechanism to address the issue and provide immediate, easy relief for survivors.

The chief guest of the conference was the lower Chitral DC Muhammad Hashim Azim, who thanked for hosting a consultative workshop on issues of vital GBV that plagued society as a whole.

He said in his speech by the participants that the regional administration is already making serious terminators to address different social problems, including the establishment of GBVs in mature units.

He said that in the special courses prepared by the district government for students in the primary school class in the region, all types of social and environmental issues will be portrayed in a clear and attractive way to make the child positive outcomes.
