At least five people were killed on Thursday, one of whom was injured in a Chaman explosion in Bal Luchistan Province, according to police.
Chaman District Police Abdullah Ceema told dawn.com The explosion occurred near taxi stalls in the Chaman Park-Afghan border area.
“Five people were killed in the explosion near the vehicle and one was injured,” he said, adding that police and rescue teams were sent to the scene.
A statement from the Bal Road Provincial Government Department said it had ordered an investigation into the incident.
“The scene of the incident was surrounded by troops. The levy and other law enforcement agencies were on the scene. The process of collecting evidence and investigation is underway,” it said.
The government also appeals to the public to avoid rumors and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
