Karachi: The Association of All Pakistani Newspapers (APNS) welcomes the decision of the Punjab government to withdraw the amendment to the PPRA (Public Procurement Regulatory Authority) rules and allows the publication of tender notices in newspapers.
APNS President Sarmad Ali and Secretary-General Mohammed Ather Kazi said in a press statement that the long-term standby issue will be welcomed by newspapers in Punjab, which has affected the PPRA rules.
APN has long demanded to withdraw the amendment because it seriously affects the economy of the Punjab region and the tabloid newspapers.
Contenders of the APNS office welcomed the long-awaited decision of the provincial government, saying the rule correction finally provided breathing space for newspapers in Punjab.
