Rawalpindi: Up to 41 patients with dengue fever were reported on Saturday at three government-run hospitals, with a total of 127 patients currently receiving treatment.
According to data compiled by Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU), 448 patients visited the outpatient hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital. Or they, 41 tests that tested positive for dengue.
Of the 127 enrolled patients, 58 were in the San Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and 32 were in the Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital. Official records show that among the new cases, 26 are in the San Family Hospital, nine reports from Benazier Bhutto Hospital, and six are in the Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital.
During the current season, 12,941 patients visited the outpatient department of three hospitals, and 2.218 patients were sent to the dengue ward and confirmed as 1.128 dengue cases.
A senior doctor at Holy Family Hospital told dawn Three government-run hospitals in the garrison city are also receiving patients from the Twin Cities of Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree and Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
He said treatment is being provided to patients in Islamabad and other regions, as directed by the Punjab government. He added that the regional hospitals in Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock referenced the Holy Family Hospital.
The doctor further said that in the emergency, the hospital had arranged additional beds. He added: “At Holy Family Hospital we can accommodate more than 250 patients at a time, while BBH and RTH can accommodate 100 patients.”
