WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump wrote Saturday to expand his controversial home use of the military by deploying troops in the city of Portland in the northwest of the United States and in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities.
In Oregon’s largest city, Portland’s potential deployment will follow similar actions by the Republican president to mobilize troops against the will of local democratic leaders Los Angeles and the capital Washington.
“At the request of the Secretary of Homeland Security, Christie mentioned that I directed War Minister Pete Hegseth to provide all the necessary forces to protect Portland that was damaged by war, and any ice-cold facilities we have siege in the attacks of Antifa and other family terrorists,” the Truth Society Platform.
He added: “I will also authorize all my strength if needed.”
