WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration on Thursday significantly increased its stake in a possible shutdown of government funds and scored federal agencies in preparation for new massive shots.
The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) warned in a memo that it would surpass the conventional practice of temporary leave during previous closures and that Congress could not reach consensus on spending plans.
Republican Trump has had a tense showdown with Congressional Democrats on federal funding ahead of the fiscal deadline on Sept. 30, which will trigger a new political crisis in Washington.
Democrats rejected the Republican proposal unless there are some spending cuts that reverse and expand existing health care subsidies. When asked about plans to fire federal workers, Trump accused Democrats of imminent shutdowns.

“Well, it’s all caused by Democrats. They ask us to do something completely unreasonable,” Trump told reporters, like hey Hosting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Oval Office.

Democratic House Minority Leader Hookem Jeffries responded to “lost” earlier to the White House threat of layoffs. Jeffries added a “vicious political attack” to X, calling the OMB chief a “vicious political hacker”: “We will not be intimidated by the threat of you threatening to carry out a large-scale shooting.”
Shutdown will put non-essential actions into stopping, with thousands of civil servants temporarily leaving without pay.
“Crazy demand”
But the White House memo also said that layoffs were on the cards. It said: “Instructing the agency to take this opportunity to consider the notification of force (RIF) for all employees”.
The term “effective reduction” used by the Trump administration during mass shootings is the same as that used in mass shootings earlier this year.
The White House also ordered agents to submit their proposed employee emission reduction plans and inform employees. The memorandum blames Democrats for “crazy demands” and accuses them of breaking the so-called decade-long trend of a bipartisan agreement to avoid closures at the same time of the year.
Under Republican and Democratic administrations, in an increasing number of Washington and a polarized Washington, shutdowns have become a regular feature of American politics.
Senate Democrats last week rejected a fund-stop bill that was rushing to pass by the Republican-controlled House as it tries to avoid a closure.
Trump canceled Tuesday’s meeting with Democratic leaders in Congress, saying he won’t meet them until they “have “for them become realistic.”
With both chambers adjourning this week, the Senators didn’t return until the day before the deadline, so time has run out of time the U.S. government funded after the end of the fiscal year.
House Republicans warned Friday that their members will not return by the funding deadline, forcing the Senate to vote again and accept their proposals or face a closure.
The bill, if passed, remains a temporary solution to the temporary establishment of federal agencies by November 21.
Congress faced a last-time closure in March when Republicans refused to talk to Democrats about Trump’s massive budget and the layoffs of thousands of federal employees.
