Russia launched hundreds of drones and missiles in Kiev and other parts of Ukraine earlier Sunday, killing at least four people and investigating dozens, one of the most ongoing attacks on the capital since the start of the full-scale war.

The Ukrainian military said Russia launched 595 drones and 48 missiles overnight, and its defense measures shot down 568 drones and 43 missiles. It noted that the main target of the strike was the capital of Kiev.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday it used long-range air and maritime weapons and drones to carry out “massive” attacks on Ukraine to target military infrastructure, including airports.
Moscow denied civilians in the war against Ukraine, despite the killing of thousands of people, residential areas were widely damaged by their attacks.
Zelensky urges international partners to take action
Zelensky once again urged the international community to take decisive action to reduce Russia’s invasive energy revenue. Ukraine has not convinced U.S. President Donald Trump to impose punitive sanctions on Moscow so far.
“The time to act decisively is long overdue, and we rely on strong reactions from the United States, Europe, the G7 and the G20,” he said on the Telegram Messaging Spect app.

Ukraine’s defense extends due to large-scale attacks
Attacks on this scale have limited Ukraine’s air defense through Wood in 2025.
He and other officials asked international partners to provide more protection for Ukraine’s sky, but the availability of air defense systems is limited, and other countries are eager to strengthen their defense capabilities amid Russia’s threat.
Zelensky said Sunday’s attack targeted several areas, including the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, and authorities said at least 16 people were injured.
Emergency services say at least four people were killed, while local authorities injured 67 people nationwide.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, said in a telegram that the death toll was a 12-year-old girl, although it has not been formally confirmed.
