Rumor has it that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair can lead the transitional period in Gaza, rather than part of Trump’s post-war plan. Al Jazeera Faisal Ali reports that several numbers have exploded the idea.
Husam Badran, a member of the Hamas Politburo, said the Palestinian people were not “minors need guardians” and added that “any decision on Gaza or the West Bank is resolved by national consensus and not internal affairs of Palestinian affairs imposed by external powers”.
He added that Blair should be tried for his role in the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, rather than managing the Gaza Strip. “Any plan related to Blair is a sign of discomfort.”
Rima Hassan, a member of the Franco-Palestine in the European Parliament, responded to the circular rumor, saying: “Decolonizing Palestine means decolonizing it from all colonists.”
Yanis Varoufakis, former Greek finance minister and writer, said promoting himself for his role is “the classic Blair”. He wrote on X: “He himself is a war criminal, and he requested a five-year appointment for Donald Trump in the best tradition of the White Settlement Colonial Project to represent Donald Trump as a genocide site in Israel.”
Arab-British Understanding Council Director Chris Doyle told Times Broadcast Blair’s record in the Middle East involves supporting George Bush in the 2003 Iraq War, and that’s not “not proud of it…he doesn’t have the confidence and trust of the Palestinians.”
Francesca Albanian, UN Palestinian expert, released: “Tony Blair?
“What could be wrong given Blair’s excellent record in the Middle East?” said historian and author William Dalrymple.
