New Palestinian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Husam Zomlot delivers a passionate speech ahead of the official Palestinian Embassy Al Jazeera Report by Rory Chalands.
Chalands added: “In his (Zomlt) speech, he said that Britain played a unique role in the Middle East due to its colonial history, because of the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which laid the way for the path to the creation of Israel.”
“He said the UK’s decision to acknowledge that the Palestinian state’s decision was overdue and has taken solemn responsibility to the British government. It should not only be diplomacy.”
Chalands reported that according to Zomlot, it was about continuing and trying to achieve the Palestinian state and trying to end the battle in Gaza.
“He said genocide should cease, occupation and impunity end, reversal of the illegal environment and abhorrence of international law, sanctions and arms embargoes,” Chalands added.
