TOKYO: Japanese police said Thursday they arrested a 75-year-old woman who allegedly admitted to keeping her daughter’s body in a freezer for twenty years.

An investigators found the body of an adult woman at the home of Keiko Mori in Ibaraki Prefecture in northeast Tokyo on Tuesday, a local police spokesman said.

The spokesman said Mori “sayed her daughter,” Makiko was born in 1975 and would be 49 or 50 years old if she was still alive.

“Decline is moving forward,” he added, noting that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Mori came to police on Tuesday and reported that she kept the body in the refrigerator.

When investigators visited the house with Mori, they found the body wearing a T-shirt and underwear, kneeling on the inside of the refrigerator, facing downward, the spokesman said.

Morrie was arrested for allegedly giving up the body.

According to a spokesman, she told investigators that the smell filled the house, so she bought a refrigerator and placed her daughter’s body inside.

Mori has several children, but police did not speak, and they told investigators about Makiko’s people.

The spokesman said she has lived alone since her husband died earlier this month.
