According to the state-owned news agency Xinhua News Agency.

Tang also bribed cash and property from various location heroes from 2007 to 2024, worth more than 268 million yuan (US$37.6 million), Xinhua News Agency explain.

It added that the Changchun Intermediate People’s Court suspended his death penalty for two years, noting that he had admitted his crimes.

The Chinese Communist Party expelled Tang in November 2024, six months after he was investigated by the anti-plant supervision agency, and was evacuated from his post.

Tang’s investigation was extremely rapid and he underwent a similar investigation into Defense Minister Li Xiangfu and his predecessor Wei Feng.

President Xi Jinping began a campaign to remove Chinese domestic security agencies in 2020 to ensure that police, prosecutors and judges are “absolutely loyal, absolutely pure, absolutely reliable.”

According to the official biography, from 2017 to 2020, Tang was the government of the Western province and was later appointed Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Xi Jinping said corruption is the biggest threat to the Chinese Communist Party and is still on the rise.
