The 361st meeting of the Punjab University (PU) Senate on Thursday was held in the Vice -Chancellor Sensate Hall, Old Campus, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, who chancellor.
During the session, the Senate approved bursaries of the value of RS. 170 million for students, which continues the university’s long -standing policy of financial support. The meeting also introduced the first strategic plan of Punjab University, which sets out reforms in academic, financial and administrative areas.
Vice -Chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, told the participants that a majority of students at Punjab University receive scholarships and ensure that it will be forced to stop the expense. He added that every student will receive a subsidy of Rs this year. 219,000, while residents of residences are entitled to an extra Rs. 150,000 subsidy.
The university will also initiate a granting fund for research, pension and development, he says, and notes that PU has achieved the saving of RS240 million on electricity costs.
The Senate further approved the recharge of the Academic Council and approved the budgets for 2024-25 and 2025–26.
