The Punjab meeting has moved to regulate private academies, coaching centers and teaching centers across the province.
The Promotion and Regulation of Private Educational Institutions for Private Educational Institutions was presented by PML-N Legislature Amjad Ali Javed during the recent session.
In the bill, it is noted that the number of private academics and coaching institutions has a rising charges over the past decade. Although these institutes play an important role in helping students prepare for exams, their unregulated growth has become a matter of concern.
Lawmakers said that the introduction of a legal framework would help standardize operations, ensure transparency and protect students’ interest.
The bill was referred to a committee that will present its report within two months. After review, it will return to the meeting for approval. The final decision will be based on Punjab’s Governor Sardar Saleem Haider.
