Punjab Mulls fee waiver for students in areas affected by flood

The Punjab government is providing a proposal to give a fee for students from regions hit by recent floods.

According to Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjab’s chief minister was a recommendation to wait for registration and semi-fees for students involved in public colleges and universities.

He said that a final decision will be made that approves the chief minister. The initiative, he added, will arise the financial burden on the families struggling due to the disaster.

The minister further assured that the government should provide all possible support to ensure that students can continue their education. He also requested private schools, colleges and universities to expand similar assistance measures for affected students.
