Intermediate and Secondary Education (Bise) Gujranwala reveals a clear performance gap between male and female students. In each academic stream, both regular and private female candidates performed better than their male counterparts, which continued a consistent trend of previous years.
Overall pass percentage
According to the official data:
- Boys (all groups combined): 20.358 appeared, 10.309 passed – 50.65%
- Girls (all groups combined): 68.797 appeared, 51.963 passed – 75.52%
- Joint Total: 89,155 appeared, 62,272 passed – 69.83%
The numbers highlight a performance gap of nearly 25 percentage points between male and female students in the total pass rate.

Gender gap in academic achievement
Female students fared better than male students in every large group. The difference was particularly expressed in humanities and pre -meaning, where girls recorded significantly high struggling.
