The Balochistan Corruption Institution (ACE), under the special prescriptions of Director-General Abdul Waheed Kakar, conducted a Maoor operation against the IT wing of the Balochistan Board Secondary Education (BBise) Quetta, who arrested two officials on charges of the exam.
In an investigation, evidence was revealed of corruption, abuse of authority and the changes in the annual and supplement examination of 2024 High School Certificate (HSSC).
DG Abdul Waheed Kakar, who spoke to Express News, said that eliminating corruption in the province is a top priority under chief minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s vision. “Corruption is poison for the edication system, and we are determined to root it at every level. Transparency and accountability will be ensured, and corrupt elements will be to justice,”
Investigations, began with credible intelligence reports, uncovered that some IT wing officials were involved in the manipulation of students records, the examination counts of the Illogly Channing, the detailed markings (DMCs) and DMCs) and access to the IT system without authorization. Clear contradictions were also found between awards and issued DMCs, allegedly for financial gain, nepotism and personal interest.
The investigation identified the Muhammad Owais and the computer programmer Waseem Noor as directly responsible for the toddler with calculated records by deceiving the “Super Admin” – ID in front of the official reset.
The authorities said that these actions are serious corruption under the Balochistan employees’ efficiency and discipline Act 2011, and culpable offenses under sections 109, 409, 420, 471 Penalty Code (1860) with section 5 (2) of the 1947 Prevention Act.
With the approval of DG Kakar, a fir is registered against the two accused, who are now in custody, while attacks are underway to arrest other suspects.
The DG reiterated that the mission is to eradicate educational institutions and protect students’ future, emphasizing that no form of misconduct will be needed. The BBISE administration strived the full cooperation in the investigation, while the chairman of the council assured the students that justice was done. Officials described the operation as an important step towards cleaning Balochistan’s education sector of corruption.
