Rawalpindi: Another 16 patients suffered from mosquito-borne disease in Rawalpindi on Monday.
The increase in these new patients has increased the total number of dengue fever to 639 in government-run hospitals over the past two months. Figures for private hospitals and clinics are not included, as there is no system to collect data from private medical facilities.
Currently, 59 dengue patients from Rawalpindi are being treated in the Satellite Town (HFH), while 4 patients are at the Benazier Bhutto Hospital (BBH), Murree Road and 5 patients at the Regional Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Raja Bazaar.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hassan Waqar Ceema organized a meeting to review the anti-registration measures in the region. During the writings, regional health officials highlighted facts and figures, especially regarding larval detection and remedial measures taken in the most affected coalition committee.
The discussion also covers the dengue situation and zoning in Rawalpindi, including the number of cases sentenced and confirmed.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all available resources will be taken to fight dengue and strict measures will be maintained. He stressed that all aspects of dengue control are being considered when implementing the regional plan.
