Muslim countries join European powers to support Trump’s Gaza plan – World

Indonesia and Pakistan, the two most populous Muslim majority countries in the world, have joined the statement.

Indonesia has placed its forces as part of future Gaza forces, and Pakistan has been eager to attract Trump and improve its relations with Washington.

Trump said Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement was posted on X even before the White House announcement, expressing his “strong belief that President Trump is fully prepared to assist in any necessary ways” to ensure the end of the conflict.

The Palestinian Authority that Netanyahu tried to mortgage was also quickly supported, welcoming Trump’s “sincere and firm efforts.”

Hamas has not commented in depth, saying the organization has not received the program yet.

European powers return plan

France

French President Emmanuel Macron said last week with Trump that the United States still adopts elements of the French plan despite France’s recognition of the Palestinian state.

Macron praised Trump for his “commitment to end the Gaza War.”

Macron wrote on X: “Hamas has no choice but to release all hostages immediately and follow the plan.”

He also called on Israel to “firm” about this.

U.K.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office said the UK “strongly” support Trump’s efforts to “end the fight, release hostages and ensure emergency humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza”.

The plan includes calling for a transitional agency in Gaza led by Trump and participating in the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

“President Trump has developed a bold and smart plan that, if consensus is reached, ends the war and immediately remedy for Gaza, an opportunity for its people to brighter and better future while ensuring the absolute and lasting security of Israel and the release of all hostages.”

European Union

EU Chief Antonio Costa urged all parties to “grab the moment and give peace a real opportunity”, adding that “the situation in Gaza is unbearable”.

Italy

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing administration faces increasing pressure on its cautious stance and also praises Trump’s diplomacy.

In a statement, it called on “all parties to seize this opportunity and accept the plan.”

Germany

German Foreign Secretary Johann Wadephhul said the Trump plan “provides a unique opportunity to end the horrible conflict in Gaza.

“In the end, the Israelis and the Palestinians hope this war will end soon.”

Spain

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza, saying Madrid “welcome the peace proposal.”

“We have to end so much pain,” he said, adding that the two-country solution was “the only possible solution.”

India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also welcomed Trump’s “comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza.”

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanian said the country welcomes Trump’s plan “a plan to bring peace to Gaza after nearly two years of conflict and devastating civilian life.”

PM Albanian said: “Australia has been calling for an international ceasefire, the return of hostages and part of the aid flow to Gaza.”

“Australia affirms that the plan denies any role Hamas has in Gaza’s future government and calls on Hamas to lay down his weapons and release all remaining hostages against the plan,” he said.
