• Army aviation helicopter airlifted her to Gilgit
Gilgit: An injured American paraglider was airlifted by Pakistani Army Air Helicopters in Rush Lake, located at a height of 4.694 meters in Nagar.
Two Pala Papers, 40-year-old American Jessica Courtney Green and 35-year-old Australian country Shane Owen Tighe, took off from Karimabad, Hungary on Saturday.
According to local police, both sectarians plan to land at Rush Lake, about 50 kilometers from Karimabad. However, the American paraglider was forced to crash. Her leg was injured, although her condition was initially stable.
Sources said she also had a fractured rib and ankle injury and was found unconscious. Her Paraglider used a satellite phone to tell a situation, who then sought emergency assistance from locals. Volunteers in Hoper Valley arrived at the incident site on Sunday and managed to rescue the injured paraglider, taking her some distance.
Volunteers stay overnight at the camp, providing food and first aid. On Monday morning, a Pakistani aviation helicopter transported the injured American paraglider to Gilgit and later flew to Skadu. From there, she was transferred to Islamabad on the same day’s charter flight.
Rush Lake is one of the world’s tallest alpine lakes, about 15 kilometers north of Miar Peak and Spantik. Visitors are often attracted to the location from the Hoper Valley, Crossing Hoper Glacier and Miar Glacier.
Rakaposhi Adventure
Meanwhile, two American climbers – Dane Christensen and Craig Orion Lutlorer – have begun an expedition to reach Rakaposhi at 7788m.
Both climbers have issued permits, according to GB’s Ministry of Tourism. From the Rakaposhi base camp, they started climbing on Monday. They are being assisted by two local high-altitude porters. American climbers plan to complete the task within one month.
