Greater Bronck (Michigan): Authorities are working on Monday to determine why the former Marine drove his pickup truck to the Michigan church during Sunday’s service, opened fire and set up the construction process, kill At least four people died in a gunfight with police.
Hundreds of worshippers were inside the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greater Blank, Michigan, when the suspect crashed his pickup truck into the front door on Sunday morning, official Sars.
Two victims were shot to death and two other bodies were found in the ruins of the church hours later, which officials said was intentional on fire.
The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is headquartered in Utah, following the teachings of Jesus and also following the prophecy of 19th-century American Joseph Smith. It is informally called the Mormon Church, which its leadership discourages.
Officials warned later Sunday that some people still haven’t blamed and that more bodies can be found as investigators sifted through the burned ruins of the building. At least eight people were injured.
On Monday, a man drove through a roadblock set up near the church CNN Report. The network said the driver was detained and his identity and intentions were not clear.
The suspect in the shooting was identified as Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, of the nearby Burton town. US military records show that Sanford was a veteran of the Iraq War and served in the Marine Corps from 2004 to 2008.
Authorities did not provide a possible motivation, saying they would search for their sister’s home and phone number. Grand Blanc Township is a suburb of Flint with a population of about 40,000, about 60 miles northwest of Detroit.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News She ghosted with FBI Director Kash Patel on Monday.
“What they know now is a person who hates the Mormon faith, and they are trying to learn more about this, how much budget is expected, how many plans are there, whether he left notes.”
Levitt said the shooter’s family is working with the FBI.
City Council candidates near Burton told Detroit Freedom He spoke with Sanford about a week ago, and the sisters described members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as “Anti-Christ.” Candidate Kris Johns told the newspaper that the two did not discuss politics, but he saw President Trump’s campaign signals on the suspect’s fence.
