Karachi: Mutahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) (MQM-P) on Saturday blasts Sindh government’s citizenship issues against Karachi, demanding that the federal government use constitutional provisions to force provincial governments to force provincial governments provincial governments Karachi Strategic Development Plan (KSDP) 2020.
At a press conference, some leaders Haaider Abbas Rizvi accused the provincial government of deliberately discarding KSDP -2020 and wasting trillions of dollars on development projects and labeling the government as a “state criminal.”
He said the federal government should invoke Section 149, which grants it certain powers to give directions to the provincial government to ensure compliance with federal policies or laws.
Developed by the Master Planning Group (MPGO) and the Municipal Government Karachi (CDGK), KSDP-2020 makes Karachi a world-class city and an attractive economic center that provides a decent quality of life for Karachi people.
The MQM-P leader said that KSDP-2020, which was unanimously approved by the then-city elected government, was approved by the Supreme Court’s Water Commission in 2020 and intentionally discarded by the Sindh government.
“Now, it is being declared that Karachi lacks a master plan, in which a new, manufacturing plan is being developed to further stagnate the city’s development,” he added.
He also asked the Pakistani Commission of Inquiry in 2017 to not enforce the heads of KSDP 2020, including government members and officials, and was found guilty.
On the side of some members of Sindh and the National Assembly, he said the Sindh government “has violated the basic rights of Karachi residents and relentlessly exploited them”.
Mr Rizvi said the city was “shattered by the idiot mafia” with “70%” or Pakistan’s income and “98pc” or Sindh’s contribution.
He was frustrated.
He said Karachi residents have been buying water for 20 years, children are “lack of basic vaccines” and Sindh government “billion dollar crimes against rabies vaccination”.
“The roads in the city are unusable, vehicles have become out of place within three years, and corruption has destroyed major infrastructure like Shahrah Bhutto, University Road, Hub Canal and Karimabad Underpass,” he said, “The 54,000 incident reported last year, but the provincial government remains inactive, allegedly accomplices with the Mafia.
