Minister plans to lease highways to increase NHA revenue – Pakistan

Islamabad: Federal Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan is planning to rent valuable rights of way (Row) on valuable highways and national highways to “generate funds.”

The minister chaired a senior meeting at the NHA headquarters and expressed satisfaction with the unprecedented increase in the NHA’s own resources over the past year, deeming it a historic milestone, adding that authorities will continue to enhance their rewards every year.

He said funds were released in the name of patchwork and repairs because these funds were often abused due to corruption.

“Now, new road construction will be underway so that long-term benefits can be used and funds can be used appropriately,” he added.

The minister further stated that the NHA should be reorganized according to the corporate sector model, with waterfront support from qualified private sector professionals and provide them with attractive packages.

He noted that NHA officials’ performance must be evaluated for designated targets and that those with targets will receive cash incentives.

He also ordered the permanent removal of the NHA’s encroachment

Land and direct officials to focus resources and attention on the implementation of new projects to ensure their timely completion.

The Federal Minister of Communications and the NHA Chairman introduced the meeting to the meeting the tasks assigned by the Minister and the plans for infrastructure development to date.
