Lahore: An unidentified woman allegedly kidnapped a freshman girl from the Pedes ward at Mayo Hospital on Thursday.
The baby was transferred to one of the major public health facilities in Punjab at the Madame Punjab Hospital and received some tests recommended by the doctor.
Police arrived at the hospital, and their government informed the incident and investigated it.
Earlier, Similar events A woman reportedly kidnapped a newborn at Lahore General Hospital. However, police arrested the woman and recovered the baby within 48 hours of the incident.
Regarding the new incident, a police officer said the wife of Muridek resident Qasim gave birth to the baby two days ago at Aichant Lady Hospital.
He said on Thursday, Qasim took his newborn baby to the pediatric ward at Mayo Hospital, where she was going to get some tests.
Meanwhile, according to hospital sources, a woman allegedly avoided security personnel, entered the ward and brought her newborn.
The official said serious concern was that the hospital government did not take special measures to avoid such incidents.
“We checked the security cameras that captured the suspect (women),” police officer said, adding that the police team has been granted the kidnapping of women with the help of More Private and Punjab Safjab Safe Cameras.
The CEO of Mayo Hospital told the media that a committee has been set up to determine the mistakes and negligence of the staff concerned.
He said a senior doctor, Imran Hassan, was in charge of the committee, adding that police were also asked to investigate the kidnapping.
