Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has blasted Israeli campaign in Gaza at the UN General Assembly.
Speaking on the video link, the Palestinian president said that in the past two years, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have “faced wars of genocide, destruction, hunger and displacement that were surveillance by Israeli occupation forces.”
Israel was killed and injured more than 220,000 Palestinians, mostly unarmed women, children and the elderly, Abbas said.
“It was a war where hundreds of thousands of people were displayed and stopped the entry of food and medical supplies and caused hunger among two million Palestinians,” he added.
“They imposed a suffocating siege on the entire people and destroyed more than 80% of the houses, schools, hospitals, churches, mosques, facilities and infrastructure.
“What Israel is doing is not only an aggression, but also a war crime and crime against humanity.”
