PML -N, PPP SPAR exceeds BISP for Punjab flood mitigation – Pakistan

Lahore/Islamabad: The verbal war between alliance partners PML-N and PPP escalated on Wednesday, after the former questioned the transparency of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), the latter accused its senior partner of showing “Irresponsible attitude”Refused to use procedural data to compensate those affected by floods in Punjab.

Several PPP leaders criticized PML-N for “trying to make BISP controversial”. PML-N reaction

In response to criticism, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said in a statement on Wednesday that some elements of the PPP did nothing except indulge in “flood politics” and point scores.

“The PPP attempts to drag BISP into politics. These plans work under its own laws and mechanisms. Repeated linking it to floods is nothing more than a score for political scores,” she said.

Ms. Bokhari accused the PPP leaders of ordering from the custodians that the Punjab government deserves. “The government makes such a decision based on common circumstances and fundamental reality, not political statements,” she said.
