Srinagar: At least four Indian heroes were killed and dozens were injured on Wednesday as protests demanded state size and post quotas for residents in the state period of federal territory and conflict with police.

The Buddhist Muslim Enclave is Deprived In 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government carved it out of the controversial Jamu and Kashmir states, putting the area under direct control of New Delhi.

Protesters led by activist Sonam Wangchuk also want special status to allow the creation of elected local institutions to protect their tribal areas.

“In this violence on Wednesday, or our young people die for our cause… I want to assure the people of Ladakh that we will not let the sacrifices of these young people be washed away… we will continue to work hard to meet our demands.”

News Agency said Anni.

Indian TV channels show an abandoned police car emanating from the front. Local media reported that the protests were torn and young people threw stones at police.

Police sources said more than 50 people, including 20 police officers, were injured. “It is the frustration of young people… that makes them go out on the streets…I urge young people… not to take this violent path,” said Wangzhuk.

“This is not a solution to the Ladakh problem…If our young people feel sad and painful, it is that we are breaking today’s hunger strike.”
