Lahore: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the establishment of a special court to ensure that the ruling on the land is seized within a mandatory 90 days.
During a ceremony organized by the Punjab Law Enforcement and Regulatory Agency (PERA), CM said the new legislation would eliminate land owned by orphans, widows and traitor citizens in the province on Wednesday.
“For this purpose, the Special Court will accelerate the decision in 90 days with mandatory resolution of land robbery cases,” she said.
The proposed law will include up to 10 years in prison for illegal residents of the state, she said.
Announcement of fee waiver for students in flooded areas
She said: “The weak and helpless states in Punjab will not encroach on. In places where injustice, the Punjab government will bring oppressors to justice.”
CM also sworn in to Pera officials who promise to offer dedication to people, never accept bribes, and work hard to ensure public welfare and convenience.
In some recent incidents, Pera officials were allegedly found involved in corruption.
Ms. Nawaz said Pera’s goal was to combat inflation, hoarding and encroachment. She praised Pera Force for playing a key role in the recent flooding, carrying out rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations in Punjab.
Faux inflation and black marketing must be rooted, she said. “In Tokyo, I was told that the prices of flour and wheat were rising. The prices of wheat were down due to Pera and the government’s efforts.”
Merchants are encouraged to make fair profits, but profits must not be tolerated under any circumstances, CM said.
“The money obtained through corruption brings any benefit to anyone,” she told Pera officials.
She also praised the Crime Control Department (CCD) for helping restore peace in Punjab. She said the crime rate dropped to zero in several Tehsils due to CCD efforts.
Fee waiver: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a “special relief plan” for students from flood-affected areas.
Under this package, semester fees for students in all affected areas have been wasted.
In addition, admission fees for first-year bachelor’s degree (Bachelor’s of Research) in these areas have also been withdrawn.
The package will benefit students of Muzaffargarh, Multan, Lodhran, Veanari, Siolot, Narowal, Gujrat, Chiniot and Kasur who will receive the full fee for the first academic year.
A handout said that the registration deadline for all universities located in all universities within the flood-affected areas has been extended by 20 days, and the deadline for applying for the “Honhaar” scholarship here has been extended by one month.
