PTI social media activist Falak Javed Khan has been arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in a case related to fake videos by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari, who was uploaded to social media, her lawyer said on Wednesday.
PTI claims she was arrested in Islamabad last night.
Her lawyer advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq confirmed dawn.com Today, she was arrested on a fake video.
“My team and I will appear in the court tomorrow in Falak Javed’s case tomorrow. We will provide comprehensive legal aid in Falak Javed’s case. If the NCCIA applies for Falak Javed’s physical custody, we will object. The case is being reviewed in all angles.”
The Punjab minister sought action last July to those involved in sharing images she edited on social media. She claimed Falak edited and scattered his images on social media. She said the agency had made a request to the FBI (FIA) under the PECA (Electronic Crime Prevention Act) to take action against Farak and others, but the agency did not take any action.
The minister argued that she was slandered on social media and that her constitutional rights were violated. Her petition requires the court to order the FIA to take action against the respondents and submit a compliance report.
