Petition filed in IHC’s social media post against PTI chief Imran Khan – Pakistan

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) filed a petition challenging the inflammatory outpost raised by PTI founder Imran Khan during his imprisonment by PTI founder Imran Khan’s official X account.

The petition was filed by citizen Ghulam Murtaza Khan through barrister Zafarullah Khan, and noted that spreading “provocative and malicious” content from the accounts of convicted prisoners is illegal and violates prison rules.

The petitioner asked the court to direct the National Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Agency and the Telecommunications Agency of Pakistan (PTA) to conduct a thorough investigation to determine who had been operating the PTI Funder account while incarcerated.

The petition further seeks directions to block and remove such content from social media platforms.

It also called on the court instruments prison president to ensure that prisoners are not allowed to violate prison regulations, and social media that violates prison regulations is “unconstitutional and illegal”.

In addition, the petitioner asked the court to restrict the reallocation or promotion of any posts from the founder’s account during incarceration.
