Islamabad: Capital Police Raid 17 locations for arresting lawyers case Registered after a conflict with the president of the High Court Bar Association of Islamabad (IHCBA).
Police officials said the case nominated 70 lawyers, as well as 150 to 200 unidentified individuals, was nominated in a flight at the Secretariat Police Department in a complaint by IHCBA President Syed Wajid Ali Shah Gillani.
After the case was registered, the police obtained a warrant. Later, a separate police team raided different places, including the residences of 11 lawyers nominated in the FIR.
In the evening, 17 raids were carried out in the capital, but none of them succeeded because the nominated individuals were hiding to avoid arrest.
Videos of the IHC and Colombia XCTV cameras around and around the Constitution Avenue are also being obtained and examined to identify other people related to the conflict.
According to FIR, advocate Gillani went to the parking lot outside the IHCBA office, where he found 60 to 70 people wearing lawyer uniforms, and 150 to 200 unidentified people. They are reciting scriptures to the Chief Justice of the IHC, state institutions and the military.
Advocate Gillani asked lawyers to avoid this behavior, but the mob “attacked and manipulated him.” They also “verbally abused” him and threatened his terrible consequences.
IHCBA officials and staff rescued him, and the group was dispersed.
Shireen Mazari said in an article on her X account that an armed police party in the Secretariat Police Department surrounded her house at 1 a.m. and asked Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chasha.
“They are not there, we inform them. Police said they have a fir about them and they should report it to the police station and then they leave.”
Ms Mazary said in another article that all videos of the IHC protests clearly show that FIR is wrong, adding that the witness’s accounts also confirmed this.
She added: “But the persecution of Ima and Hadi has become a daily task for the country. Ironically, the support of PTI lawyers has elected the president of the IHC Bar Association.”
Lawyers reportedly held protests on IHC homes to object pause Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri in judicial work.
But tensions broke out when PTI affiliated lawyers met the IHCBA president in person after the demonstrations.
