Larkana: Floods always cause damage to the embankment and then a 24-hour struggle is underway to avoid damage.
This is said by MPA Mir Nadir Magsi, who is considered an expert in flooding and has been assigned to oversee the strengthening of different dams in the Indus route in the North Dadu department.
He told him: “At this moment, Moria walks the flow of the peaks of the bun (Guddu and Sukkur Barlages) – one of the most vulnerable attacks in the area from eroding dikes. By tonight or tomorrow, floods will begin to retreat.” dawn Friday night, while overseeing the ongoing force work on the Bund.
MPA Nadir Magsi’s experts on flooding hope the government will do more for safe passage through Deluges. All-weather monitoring is carried out on many embankments
“We stand on the ‘highly sensitive’ Moria walking bread on the right. Recently, the flood used to flow down from the thrust of this dam, but now it turns around in a walk and comes back. So the stone is stored here. Essential, plus strict vigilance,” he said.
In answering a question, he said that the water had to pass through three bridges – Larkana-Karpur, dadu-moro and amri-sehwan – “but the question is how much damage the flood caused to the embankments and bridges”.
“Currently, the amount of flooding is equal to five days’ flow and is about to enter the river within 20 days; obviously, there are obstacles,” he said.
“These bridges have been built, and no matter what the clay engineers do, they do it, but floods always put a huge pressure on the dam. This has to be addressed,” he said.
Remedial measures are recommended
If the open culvert was built on a road on the embankment on the other side (left), then water would automatically rise and pass even if the road was above it. And, if the water level is low, it won’t cross. He said the road should be built using culverts so there will be no return or water. He said water access was necessary and bridges should be reviewed.
“For this, I will publish a paper to the President (Asif Ali Zardari) on the bridges, because even the President’s own region Nawabshah was affected by the Amri Bridge,” he said.
MPA said it was impossible to build bridges between each embankment because it would involve a sum of money. Therefore, funds should be allocated to the annual development plan of the culvert so that traffic can be safely passed through 20,000 or 40,000 Cuseecs.
The location of the bridge
MPA Magsi writes letters on site with the help of maps and satellite images by the chief engineer, supervising engineer and executive engineer. They showed him that the three bridges were small in length compared to those sites.
The length of the Larkana-Khairpur bridge is only 1.2 km, while this is 13 km from the width of the river. Engineers say that due to the narrow passage, floods naturally exert pressure in the shape of the levee.
Flood situation
They said the peak flow could pass through Larkana over the next 24 hours, adding that Dykes were intact. The chief engineer, Right Bank, shared the flow of the Indus River, said Guddu barrage is now in low flooding, with 376,300 Cuseecs inflows and 347.969 Cuseecs outflows.
Sukkur Barrage has inflows of 482,090 Cuseecs and 428,710 Cuseecs outflows, while Kotri Barrage has inflows of 328,142 Cuseecs and Felfflow 306.887 Cuseecs.
He said Sukkur and Kotri barrage are currently at medium levels.
Flood summit causes harm
Currently, the peak of the flood is passing through the dams under the jurisdiction of the Northern Division of Moria, Hakra and Abad Dykes in the Larkana district.
Irrigation officials posted on the Bund on the Moria Loop tell dawn On Friday, this caused damage to a portion of the T-Spur, developing a situation that prompted them to build a stud downstream from the T-Spur. They have begun to dump heavy stones to build it urgently so that they can stay on the safe side in case of any harm to existing irritation.
The chief engineer of the Mukhtiar Abro on the right bank, the North Dadu department and many other irrigation officials were present to monitor the situation.
