Islamabad: Opposition PTI welcomes historic signing on Friday Strategic common defense agreement Between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the hope was expressed that the agreement would strengthen strategic links and promote bilateral and regional security.
In a handout released by PTI, the party praised the development as a way to confirm the deep relationship between the two countries.
“We believe this development is a reaffirmation of the historic depth of Pakistan-Sudia relations, rooted in the Islamic Brotherhood, shared strategic interests and long-term mutual support,” the statement said.
It added: “Intensifying defense and security cooperation between the two brothers has the potential to make a positive contribution to bilateral and regional security and stability.”
The party said its incarcerated founder Imran Khan has always envisioned Pakistan as a country that unites the Muslim world and raises the prospect of peace.
The statement describes the enhanced partnership with Saudi Arabia as a “critical step towards greater Muslim solidarity and collective security, as for every Pakistani, the sanctity and protection of the share change are a core component of our faith”.
PTI also said, “I look forward to sharing more details of the agreement with the Pakistani people so that the Pakistani people can understand appropriately.”
