In Xinjiang, President Zardari talks about trade, security cooperation – Pakistan

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari, along with senior officials in China’s Xinjiang region, reaffirmed their partnership to combat terrorism and extremism while expanding economic cooperation.

According to the president, President Zardari is with the Communist Party secretary of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Chen Gaojiang and the governor of the region Tuniyaz.

Their discussion focused on increasing collaboration in agriculture, manufacturing, livestock, industry, mining and new technologies.

Both leaders stressed their common security issues. Chen confirmed that China and Pakistan “will continue to maintain zero tolerance for terrorist organizations targeting both countries.”

President Zardari responded that Pakistan will “continue to cooperate with China to resist terrorism and extremism.”

Chen emphasized Xinjiang’s economic growth and pointed out that it has become a “hub for prosperity, social stability and latch-up peace” with its GDP eliminating 5.6 trillion yuan.

He said the region is looking forward to in-depth trade with governments and businesses and businesses in Pakistan, especially in agriculture, livestock, mining and industrial sectors.

Emphasize Xinjiang CPECThe President encouraged greater industrial cooperation and pointed out the potential of the special economic zone in Gilgit-Baltistan, which borders the Chinese region.
