South Waziristan: Helicopters bombarded armed hiding places in Manra area of South South Waziristan on Thursday.
The militants retaliate by firing rockets at security forces.
According to police sources, militants managed to escape while firing. But Maulana Noor Zaman’s wife, Ashrafa Bibi, was caught in a firefight and was seriously injured. She was transferred to the regional headquarters hospital in Wana, but she succumbed to the wound on the way. After the body, her body was then handed over to relatives.
Representatives of the local government strongly condemned the incident, making it a tragic loss and requested a transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to her death. They also urged the authorities to announce the martyrs’ compensation plan to the MPs.
It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday, just one day ago, four people remained in the fire exchange between security forces and militants, including two women and two children, in the Azam Warsak area of Birmal Tehsil.
On the other hand, armed men kidnapped Abid, a young man from Azam Warsak Bazaar of Birmal Tehsil on Thursday. Police sources said the attacker forced the boy to a motorcycle and arrived at an undisclosed location.
Shortly after the incident, police blocked the area and conducted an investigation.
