Passport offices across the country burgled thousands of passports, informed the Public Accounts Commission (PAC) on Wednesday.

At a meeting of the PAC Subcommittee IV chaired by Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Passport Director General Mustafa Qazi revealed that in “different years” thousands of passport offices across the country were stolen.

“In these cases, all passports are blocked,” Kazi said. “They have not been reviewed and have not been reviewed.”

Audit authorities said at the meeting that 32,600 passports were stole from the passport offices of Abbottabad and Esselwell.

“This is a very worrying thing,” Choudhury said. “In the current situation, these stolen passports can be abused.”

Qazi added that the passport system will be fully digitized after the incident, and the audit authorities noted that the network audit of the National Database and Registration Agency (NADRA) was conducted two years ago.

“It’s becoming very difficult to make fake documents now,” DG Qazi said.

The Subcommittee directed DG Qazi to submit an inquiry report.
