FBI Director Kash Patel faces Wednesday the next day Inquiry of U.S. lawmakers defended his handling of Jeffrey Epstein’s investigation archives from the claims of Democrats and a Republican lawmaker that the FBI is blocking information related to the late Financiers and sex offenders.
Patel appeared before a panel of U.S. House of Representatives, providing various explanations for the Trump administration’s face-to-face material in the Epstein investigation.
He believes the court order prevented the release of some evidence, and in other areas, the FBI-owned material has been restricted.
“We are publishing within the scope permitted by law,” Patel told the House Judiciary Committee.
Ministry of Justice anger Many prominent supporters of President Donald Trump decided in their July decision not to release other documents from the investigation after they put forward expectations for a full disclosure.
Trump’s political foundations have many believed that his administration would suggest other wealthy and powerful people in the sex trafficking of Epstein as a so-called underage girl.
Thomas Massie, a Republican representative in Kentucky, is a critic of the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein investigation and co-author of the legislation, demanding more disclosures and saying he was told Epstein’s victims that they gave FBI information about Epstein’s abuse.
“We know these people exist in FBI documents, documents you control. I don’t know who they are, but the FBI does. Have you done any investigations into these people?” Massi asked.
Patel replied that the FBI will investigate “credible information” but he has not received any such information yet.
Patel told the Senate panel Tuesday that the FBI had no reliable evidence that Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial of sexual trafficking charges, trafficking of women and underage girls.
This problem triggered Rare Rift Valley Between Trump and his movement to make America great again. Trump, a friend of Epstein, urged his supporters to move on and refute the issue as his Democratic opponents pushed the scam.
Three federal judges rejected the Justice Department’s request to unravel materials from a grand jury of Epstein and his former partners Ghislaine Maxwell. The judge found that the former said there was little information that had not been disclosed in the material.
Patel also suggested that other materials, including reports of witness interviews, be protected by disclosures under court orders. He told lawmakers that the FBI had no videotapes, leaving others involved in what Epstein said was guilty.
Patel raised his claims about Epstein when he appeared on a conservative podcast before Trump nominated to lead the FBI. Democrats accused Patel of seeking protection of information about Trump, who has not been accused or misconduct related to Epstein.
“How did you go from a crusader to accountability and transparency to part of a conspiracy and cover-up?” asked Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat of the House Judiciary Committee, or a Maryland representative.
The Justice Department has begun handing the records to the House Oversight Committee, which summoned materials related to Epstein.
