The Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2026 is now open to applications from exceptional students outside the UK who must follow postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge.
This fully funded award provides comedy financial support, including tuition fees, an annual stipendium of £ 21,000, aviation, visa costs and health insurance.
Since its founding, the program has enabled more than 2000 scholars of more than 100 counters to study at Cambridge. Its mission is to nurture future leaders to have a global impact.
Who can apply?
Qualifying applicants should:
- Keep citizenship outside the UK.
Apply for one of the following programs:
- PhD (full -time or part -time)
- Mlitt (full -time)
- One year postgraduate course (full -time, with limited exceptions)
- Current Cambridge students can also apply if they start with a new postgraduate program.
Bursary
The scholarship includes:
- Complete university composition fee
- Maintenance £ 21,000 per year (up to four years for PhD students)
- One ticket for the economy class
- Visa costs and immigration health uprising
- Additional support may also be available, such as financing for academic development, child care assistance, field work support and hardship allowances.
Selection criteria
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of:
- Proven academic excellence
- Rationale for chosen course
- Commitment to improving the lives of others
- Demonstrated leadership potential
How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the University of Cambridge Graduate Portal, with the completion of both the admin and funding divisions, along with the Gates Cambridge application form. Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview.
